Hello, everyone!  I am enjoying beautiful weather in Barcelona.  Today, I am going to explain about one of the important materials for my collection,  14K gold filled(14K GF).

14K gold filled is thicker layer of 14K gold-pressure bonded over a small core of base metal (usually brass), unlike gold plating or vermeil.  And the minimum layer of 14 karat gold in an item must equal at least 1/20 the weight of the total item.  As you can see the image above, the gold layer of gold filled is usually 50 to 100 times thicker as compared to gold plated.

So you can see that 14K gold filled is much more valuable product than gold plated or vermeil jewelry and tarnish-resistant like solid 14K gold. However it may tarnish slightly but can be cleaned and care for in the same manner as other precious metal jewelry.

Since 14K gold filled is nickel-free material, anyone who can wear gold can wear gold filled without worries of any allergic reaction to the jewelry.  BUT it depends on the person, there’s always an exception… if you get an allergic reaction, please stop wearing the jewelry!  Gold filled jewelry is high quality and an economical alternative to solid gold.  eurica will keep creating pretty and good quality jewelry at affordable prices to make you and your little one smile;)
